ASTEROID Series
ASTEROID, a series of work Laurent completed in 2020 includes three Mobiles and two StabiloMobiles.
Inspired by a recent commission, the pieces all favor horizontal planes to vertical ones. The plates that form each piece are situated at varying angles, creating organic and fluctuating motion, with the color-gradient paint adding to the dynamics of the Mobiles.

Mobiles look better when they move
Mobiles are better appreciated when seeing what they do best: move.
Their unique movements depend upon the unbalanced equilibrium of the plates, unmotivated by wind or physical energy.
